Intelligent Supplier Qualification for a Multi-Utility Provider

How Rise Technologies helped ACEA strengthen supplier qualification through an intelligent validation platform — automating compliance checks, improving procurement governance, and enabling faster, more consistent evaluation processes.

The Challenge

The leading multi-utility provider needed to modernize its supplier qualification process by replacing time-consuming manual verification activities with a more structured, transparent, and scalable approach.

Evaluating supplier eligibility required procurement teams to compare information declared in qualification questionnaires against multiple external sources, making the process resource-intensive and potentially inconsistent across different supplier categories. ACEA sought a solution capable of standardizing assessments, strengthening compliance, and accelerating qualification decisions while adapting the level of verification to the risk profile of each supplier.

The objective was to create a governed evaluation framework that could improve procurement efficiency without compromising the quality and reliability of supplier assessments.

Our Approach

Rise Technologies implemented the Vendor Validator module within the M4P – Mashfrog for Procurement suite, creating an automated qualification framework that cross-references supplier information with trusted external data sources. The solution enables procurement teams to perform structured, risk-based assessments while reducing manual effort and improving traceability throughout the qualification process.

  • Configured the Vendor Validator module to automate supplier qualification and verification workflows
  • Introduced a risk-based validation model that dynamically adjusts the depth of controls according to supplier category and procurement risk
  • Automated between three and nine detailed verification areas, depending on the complexity and criticality of each qualification process
  • Reduced the manual effort required to collect and validate supporting evidence for procurement decisions
  • Established a transparent and auditable supplier assessment framework, improving governance, compliance, and the overall robustness of the qualification process
