The Challenge
A leading supermarket chain wanted to modernize its inbound logistics processes by reducing the manual effort required to register goods receipts within SAP. Processing transport documents received by email involved repetitive data entry, document verification, and reconciliation activities that slowed warehouse operations and increased the risk of recording errors.
The organization also needed to manage complex operational scenarios involving part numbers, serial numbers, and purchase order reconciliation while ensuring that goods receipts were recorded accurately against the correct SAP MM transactions.
